Chief Editors
EUROSIS 2003 |
Welcome to our
second edition of this on-line journal. Following the
experimental issue of Vol
1 No 1 and the registration survey we are please to report that so far
more than 150 people have registered for IJIGS. We have received many expressions of interest indicating
the useful purpose served by the journal in this specialist area. This has encouraged
us to proceed with the second volume and papers are already in the pipeline
ready for the next issue to appear around July/August 2003. The eagle-eyed
amongst you will have noticed our new sponsor: EUROSIS – the European
Simulation Society. We
expect to Why not go
to their web page and see what they have to offer? Plans are afoot
to create a new Network of Excellence linking together games developers
across Europe and their collaborators in other countries. Further information on this appears
on page 63. This issue
continues the trend set in the first one by including a review of the GAME-ON 2002, which took place at Westminster
University, London, last November.
The conference – now sponsored by EUROSIS – continues to attract more
participants. The Call for Papers for GAME-ON
2003 has now appeared and we look forward to seeing participants next
November at IEE Savoy place on the banks of the River Thames. We also hope
you will contact us with suggestions for Special Issues. This is your journal and we hope that
you will be encouraged to submit your technical papers, survey papers and
reviews for publication. Please
also continue to give us your
feedback and help to make this a journal that truly meets you needs. Norman Gough and Qas Mehdi, University
of Wolverhampton UK 3
