which is about 20 minutes from the centre of Reading. There are free shuttle buses every 10 minutes through the day from Reading Station to the site.

If you are arriving by car, please go directly to the Customer Briefing Centre in Building 3. Please use the free car park around Building 3.

Reading is a large town in the Thames valley about 65km west of London and 45km south of Oxford. Reading Town and Around.  Tourist information.

Arrival by Car

If travelling from Heathrow, note there is direct access to the M4 at Heathrow. Stay on the M4 until the Reading exits (Junctions 10, 11 and 12)

Exit the M4 at Junction 10 and follow the A329(M) towards Reading. Follow the road to the roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway where you will see a large sign for Thames Valley Park directly in front of you. Do not exit at the Reading Junction (A4).

At the first roundabout, take the first exit and follow the dual carriageway. At the second roundabout, take the first exit, at the third roundabout, take the second exit and at the final roundabout, take the third exit onto Microsoft Campus.

The Microsoft campus consists of four buildings arranged in a row. You'll find the main reception in the second building you come to, feel free to use the car park at the front. All the buildings are well signposted from the campus link road.

Arrival by Public Transport

 

The nearest main line station is Reading Central, which is on the main lines from both Paddington and Waterloo stations (see below).

 

Taxis are available outside the station. Please allow 30 minutes travel time during peak hours, otherwise the journey will take approximately 15 minutes.

 

Thames Valley Bus service runs from Reading Central Station at bus stop SY, apart from lunchtimes MC. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. See the timetable.

 

Arrival by Air

 

The most convenient airports for Reading are the main London international airports: Heathrow (35km) and Gatwick (70km).

 

There is no direct rail link from Heathrow to Reading, but you can get a coach:

Reading/Heathrow RailAir Link Coach

 

The RailAir Link provides a fast, reliable express coach service between Reading and Heathrow, seven days a week, 15 hours a day, with departures every 20 minutes (30 minutes at weekends). The journey time is about 45 minutes. RailAir coaches stop directly outside Reading Station - follow signs to RailAir lounge and/or Heathrow RailAir Link. The lounge is at the bottom of the station concourse. You can purchase a combined rail and coach ticket from your nearest station or through the Telesales facility on 08457 000125. If travelling from Heathrow you can buy your ticket from the Coach Ticket Desk situated in Terminal One's Arrival Hall. From Gatwick to Reading by Train

 

Direct trains to Reading are available from Gatwick airport station. The journey time is approx. 90 minutes. Operator is First Great Western (FGW)  Link. Service runs hourly from approx 5am to 11pm.

From London by Train

 

The fastest direct services (run by First Great Western depart from Paddington Station frequently. Journey time is approx. 30 minutes.

 

It is also possible to travel from Waterloo station. Trains runs approx. every half hour and take 75 minutes. This is a slow commuter service stopping at many stations and so is not recommended.

National Express Coach from London to Reading

 

National Express runs a bus service between London and Reading. Journey time is 1h 20m. The London terminus is Victoria, the Reading terminus is Calcot, near M4 Junction 12, several km west of the centre and so not very convenient. This service also stops at Heathrow airport

Renaissance Hotel - Central Reading

They have reserved 15 standard rooms from Sunday 7th November till Wednesday 10th November at a SPECIAL MICROSOFT RATE of £123.00 per room per night. All rooms that have not been booked will be released on 1st November. Mention the University of Wolverhampton when booking.

 

Mill House Restaurant & Hotel

They have 12 rooms only. Price for a single room (en suite) with single occupancy is £75 and a double room (en suite) with single occupancy is £80.

 

Corricou Lodge - 5 min walk from Microsoft

They only have 2 rooms available at a rate of £55 per room per night.

 

Holiday Inn

20 rooms at a rate of £120 per room per night B&B. Mention the University of Wolverhampton when booking.

 

Travel Lodge

Located at central Reading and also Whitley (about 1 mile).  Rooms at £75 per night
